Learning to Walk

Hello all you amazing people! I didn’t realize, until just this moment, that my last post was in March. Geez! It didn’t feel like it had been that long. Sorry! When I write, I tend to stay away from social media and turn into somewhat of a hermit crab. It’s true! But it wasn’t just writing that kept me away this time.

In April, I hurt my foot and I was forced to wear an air cast for over two months. I’m no longer wearing it, but I’m still learning to walk like a normal person. It’ll take time before my foot is completely back to normal and we had to postpone our trip to Disney World. Maybe we’ll go next year.

Meanwhile, I was still working, but the book I was writing fell to the side. You’d think I would’ve had tons of time on my hands to write, but I was still working and struggling to do normal things around our home. By the time I was able to relax in the evenings, I didn’t want to do anything. Pain can sometimes make you that way. It did me.

My laptop was near me, but my notes were in another room, so I started writing another book. Although, I can’t wait to get back to the young adult book I started. This new book is outside of my normal writing style and it’s not for children.

I run the family business and it disrupts my personal life and changed me as a person. With this book, I’m writing from what I know and it’s full of crazy stuff and at times, it’s laugh out loud funny. Believe it or not, it’s actually been super easy to write. About half way through the book, I sent it to ten different editors and one was a minister (which had me worried, since there are curse words in this book). Nine out of ten editors loved it! I swear, that sounds like a toothpaste commercial, but it’s true. I’m talking about the editors not the toothpaste, lol. The editor/minister actually loved it, too!

I’m currently working with two editors and there will be more, but for now I want to make sure this story moves forward like it should. Each chapter has its own story, but they’ll all flow together and certain aspects will continue throughout the book. I told one editor that it could be a toilet book. You know, read a chapter at a time, while sitting on the throne. It could happen or not, but I still think it’s funny.
