K C Hilton – Author of ‘The Magic of Finkleton’, ‘Return to Finkleton’, ‘Saving Finkleton’, ‘My Name is Rapunzel’, ’90 Miles to Freedom’,’ Cars Coffee and a Badass Ninja Toilet’

I have always been entranced by stories of magical adventure, and though I have had to live in the practical world, running a family business as well as two of my own, I have discovered that writing is an entirely new, exciting adventure all on its own!

We have a large family and our get togethers are so much fun! And did I mention that I’m a photographer? Yes, I take tons of photos! We also have a mini dachshund, her name is “Roxy” she only weighs 10 pounds but is a huge part of our family. She’s so spoiled!

In my spare time, I can be found updating my website or blog, finding great books to read or watching videos. Most days I crave Diet Coke, pizza and chocolate, in no particular order.

Check out my blog for updates! Have a magical day!

Return to Finkleton (Finkleton, #2)

When the Finkle children discovered magical secrets in Uncle Harry’s shop, they vowed to keep them safe.

Two years later Jack, Lizzy and Robert realized that the perfect weather wasn’t the only secret waiting to be discovered in the mysterious shop. Things aren’t always what they seem to be!

There were people who would stop at nothing to acquire land in Finkleton. Of course, there were also those determined to protect the little village from greedy outsiders. Will selfish desires destroy the village of Finkleton?

It was only a matter of time before those who cared about Finkleton and those who cared only for themselves would come into conflict. The result of this outcome would likewise depend on a matter of time.

Once again Jack, Lizzy and Robert must learn to work together to protect the magical secrets of Finkleton.

Come along to Finkleton. A new, magical adventure is about to begin!

90 Miles to Freedom ninety miles to freedom by KC hilton front cover

The counselor suggested I start a journal and write down my thoughts. He called it ‘Journal Therapy’ and said it would help me cope with my feelings.

I’m not sure where to begin, except to say that I had a wonderful life. Actually, it was a perfect life. A loving family and everything money could buy. A life envied by all, but it was stolen from me. I know I made a mistake. But I’m the one struggling to forgive myself.

To explain I need to start from the beginning. But before I do, I must be honest and admit that I wasn’t perfect. No, I had a secret. A secret that came with a price. A secret that will haunt my dreams forever.

Prepare yourself for an emotional roller coaster.

My Name is Rapunzel – Coming 2013

My tale has been told again and again, and I’ve heard each one. Except for my hair, I barely recognize the pitiful renditions. Muddled versions, crafted to entertain laughing children…but the children wouldn’t have laughed if they’d known the real story. It wasn’t their fault. They didn’t know the truth. Nobody did.

My name is Rapunzel and I will tell you my story. I will tell you the truth.

  1. our last puppy was a dachshund, Heidi, after 13 years, she sits on my coffee table. She was around 7 when we got her from my great aunt.

    1. Aren’t they just the most wonderful dogs? Ours is so spoiled! We have a bell that hangs low enough for her to ring with her nose. She rings the bell when she needs to go out, when her food is low, or when her favorite ball is stuck 🙂

  2. Hello KC! I am Rita Vetsch from Reader’s Favorite books. I recently was honored that you requested me to review your second book in the Finkleton series called Return To Finkleton. I truly felt compelled to look you up and send you a message directly because your books moved me greatly and I LOVED them both so far! You truly have a special gift and I can easily imagine your series made into motion pictures. If they are not made into movies, I’d be greatly disspointed! I have been a reviewer for some time, but have not read anything quite like your books before and that is the greatest compliment I can give. They are truly unique and ‘special’. I can tell you have put your soul into them and the plots are so imaginative and well thought out. I finished Return to Finkleton this morning and just submitted my 5 star review 🙂 I cannot wait for more of your wonderful and talented books soon!! And a special thank you for signing to books also! I am thrilled to have them and will cherish them always. My daughter, Katherine, just turned 9 yrs old so I look forward to also sharing them with her also! Thanks again for bringing so much magic to books… I truly appreciate a GREAT and inspiring author as yourself.

    🙂 Rita Vetsch

    1. Hello Rita! It’s wonderful to hear from you! Thank you for your kind words and support. I’m so glad you’ve enjoyed the Finkleton series so far and hope Katherine does as well. Finkleton made into a movie…sigh. Ohhh, what a dream that would be! A 5 star review? Thank you! I’m totally doing my happy dance! Yay! Hugs to you Rita 🙂

      1. Wonderful to hear from you KC! If I could have given Return to Finkleton 100 Stars, I would have!! It was just as great as the first book! There are so many good authors in the world today, but not many GREAT and ORIGINAL authors, as yourself! I am very impressed with your work and very inspired as well. I am a children’s author with just one book under my belt, but it was such a rewarding experience. I can relate on so many levels, but your books are truly unique. There isn’t a book out there right now that even comes close to your series! I wish I lived in Kentucky so I could have coffee with you 🙂 Minnesota is a far drive away..lol. Take care my friend and I cannot wait for the 3rd installment!! And YES, I would be honored to review it and anticipate it greatly!!
        🙂 Rita

  4. I read “The Magic of Finkleton” and “Return to Finkleton” in about a two week period. I loved the books and I am truly looking forward to the third book in the series. I am a sixth grade Reading/English teacher and I am always looking for good books to share with my students. This series is one that will be read in my classroom. Thank you for the Finkleton series.
